Wheelhouse Brewing Company threw open its doors to a packed house before Christmas 2012 and has kept them open ever since. This local favorite was founded by three friends with a passion for beer - and start-up capital from us! Wheelhouse offers our community a selection of maritime-themed brews, a lounge with a retro vibe and live entertainment. There are a number of consistent flavors on tap, including the appropriately named Flagship Pale Ale, the popular Golden Gillnetter and full-bodied Brown Ale. If you’re not much of a beer fan, they also offer wine, cider, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages… and really good pizza. They also provide a number of seasonal flavors throughout the year to keep things interesting. Wheelhouse is a wonderful example of entrepreneurial spirit and success in our community. Due to their success, they have recently moved to a new, bigger, location on Bill Murray Drive, which goes to show how beloved this little brewery is to our town.

Habitat Hair Lounge celebrated their opening on July 23rd, 2022. This busy hair salon was founded by Janessa Salm, a local Prince Rupert entrepreneur with a passion for sustainability in the beauty industry. Janessa is the owner and the senior stylist over at Habitat Hair Lounge, where she skillfully helps clients refresh their looks, chats warmly and openly with them, and works hard to make her salon as sustainable as possible. She has partnered with a company that helps recycle almost everything that is usually considered salon "waste" with the aim of giving it new life. This includes the usual recyclables plus hair foils, color tubes, unused color, single use items aestheticians use like false lashes, waxing accessories and wax, paper towels, gloves, etc. She also makes a point to work with brans that have the same morals and values as she does, which includes companies that use recycled materials and packaging, naturally drives sources ingredients, etc. Janessa is a highly skilled stylist and entrepreneur, and her busy hair salon has become a place where people not only get their haircut (along with several other services), but a place where people can come to connect and feel part of a big move towards sustainability.

Frosty Refrigeration and Air Conditioning is a service business based in our very own Prince Rupert.  They have been providing quality service in the Northwest for over 53 years.! They work on Residential Air Conditioning and commercial and industrial equipment.  Sales, service and maintenance are their specialty.  This legacy business has guaranteed their workmanship for our Northwestern communities and have been a wonderful client for many years.
